Lainey Voom's The Dumb Man, is an incredible realization of the possibilities of Machinima- videos that have been made from video game environments.
New World Notes- the blog of second life, has an interesting article on the making of the Dumb Man. I'd really be interested in giving the students a video project in which they have total control over their props, lighting, camera positions, and environments.
