Another good find from Digital Photography School.com is this user submitted photo entitled Explo-berry. The ingredients for the explo-berry recipe?
A glass of water, a white plate in the sink near the window for a natural light.
Manual Mode, 1/125 seconds, f/5.6. Focal length 50mm using Canon 350D
This would be a great starting point for a photography project that requires something captured in a split second.
