Sorry that things have been quiet around the revolution for the past few days, its been a busy week back at school. The students have had a week for their "China Alive" trips to various places around the country and then we had a few PD days and a national holiday. Now its all rush to get stuff done before the end of the quarter. Things are just rushing by, it feels like we just started school and we're already rounding the quarter mark.
One of the reasons I've been so busy is that I've been trying to get our Student Ning sites off the ground, and this week its finally happened.
T H E . L E N S is our new open network for high school photography students. Right now it is composed only of my two advanced photo classes, but it is open to anyone. On this site, students will be able to post their photographs, critique each other's work, and share ideas. If you teach photography and would like your students to join us on this site, or if you are a photography student and want to join, please send me an email or leave a comment on this post.
In addition to posting photos, Ning has space for blogs and forums - so students can post about photography related issues, offer critiques of photographs, request help, or get tips from each other.
Ning also allows you to embed albums; below you will find a compilation of everything that is on the site so far (mostly its from our first test shots and our first lesson, "Split Second" - capturing movement that you'd miss with the naked eye:
