Everything You See is Fake

A popular misconception with new video students is that the journey they're about to embark on is all about learning to use the video camera. In reality, that's only where it begins. I've often mentioned here before about the power and importance of editing, and its always been an important part of our classroom discussions. Understanding the ability of editing to manipulate not just image, but meaning is crucial to any class that deals with video production and media literacy.
