Artist Chris Jordan is a photographer who creates another kind of portrait- a devastating one of American Consumerism. Take this piece (shown in increasing detail), entitled "Cans Seurat". According to Jordan, this photograph "Depicts 106,000 aluminum cans, the number used in the US every thirty seconds." His artwork takes sterile statistics and turns them into a more understandable reality.
...and speaking of Online Museums, Jordan's work is on display at the Q2 Gallery in Second Life.
