Face Your Pockets

Dump the contents of your pockets onto a scanner and voila! Instant subject matter for a work of art. Students can photocopy or scan the work and use it for a painting or other media manipulation. It's personal and engaging. There's a website that shows scans from across the world. (Just don't let students open their eyes during the scanning).

Thanks for posting this Rey Rey!

It reminds me of one of my very first "video" projects, which was in my first year of college. Our professor asked us to create a flip book of some kind. That was the entire assignment. So my friend Josh and I went into the library at some time in the middle of the night when it was nearly deserted and xeroxed our faces a few hundred times, and pasted the results onto index cards. I still have it... somewhere!
